District Services

In many instances, a tract of land suitable for development will not be feasible without the use of a District.  DAA has the ability to tailor which District type would be most beneficial based on the District's authority and on the finance mechanisms employed for the specific District.

Service Profile

A District is employed when an area is lacking utilities or when there is an inadequate capacity of existing facilities to support the proposed development.  DAA District services include:

  • District Creation/PID Analysis Reports
  • CCN Applications
  • Bond Issuance Reports
  • District Engineering
  • Pre-Construction Services
  • Construction Observations
  • Record Keeping

District Types

There are currently many different types of Districts available, the primary difference being the powers each District posesses.  DAA has the ability to facilitate a number of District types including:

  • Fresh Water Supply District (FWSD)
  • Levee Improvement District (LID)
  • Municipal Utility District (MUD)
  • Public Improvement District (PID)
  • Special Utility District (SUD)
  • Water Control & Improvement District (WCID)
  • Water Improvement District (WID)
  • Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ)
  • Tax Increment Financing District (TIF)

District Engineering Services

  • DAA is currently District Engineer for Kaufman County MUD 9, 10, 11, 12 & 14 and Denton County FWSD No. 4A
  • DAA has assisted in forming South Denton County WCID No.1, Denton County FWSD No. 4A, Talley Ranch WCID No. 1, Gunter MUD No. 1-2, Mustang Ranch PID, Verandah MUD, Parker Creek MUD, Kaufman County FWSD 5 & 6, Kaufman County MUD 9, 10, 11, 12 & 14
